A nattering nabob of negativity
If I were the White House Press Secretary I think I would recycle this Spiro Agnew/William Safire line.

Alluding to Rush I would say something like: When all you can offer the American people is the hope that the President fails in his Constitutional mandate to promote the common welfare you've pretty much reduced yourself to being nothing more than a nattering nabob of negativity. And I think the Americans expect their leaders than to be more than nattering nabobs of negativity.

Stick Rush with the nattering nabob of negativity label (and those of us of a certain age on this board appreciate the delicious irony) and his luster will be tarnished, his effectiveness greatly reduced.

1. Symptomatic that 'pukes would rather this nation fail if they cannot retain full
control and thereby destroy it themselves. :P
