Oops, he did it again (John Lynch, that is)
Remember how he cut the deal with Judd Gregg to keep the senate seat in Republican hands?

Well guess what. He did it again.

Lynch just announced that he is reappointing Republican Kelly Ayotte as New Hampshire Attorney General.

The Dems control 3 out of the 5 seats on the Executive Council, which has to approve the nomination. I guess that with all of the Democrats who work as prosecutors, legislative aides, administrative agency counsel, assistant US Attorneys, etc, there isn't a single one who could serve the people of New Hampshire as their lawyer.

2. A little bit of info
http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx?headline=Governor+will+keep+Ayotte+as+attorney+general&articleId=58952216-f677-4548-9eda-cd752050db02

"Ayotte, of Nashua, has served as attorney general since July 2004. Previously she served as deputy attorney general, chief of the attorney general's homicide unit, as associate attorney general, assistant attorney general, as an attorney at McLane Graf, Raulerson & Middleton in Manchester, and briefly as legal counsel to former governor Craig Benson.

She received her undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1990 and her law degree from Villanova University School of Law in Pennsylvania in 1993."

Her qualifications aren't a problem. In fact, she's very qualified.

I'm just sick and tired of Lynch handing almost every high-profile appointment over to a Chamber of Commerce Republican.

3. Let's not forget this little fact
http://www.concordmonitor.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080531/NEWS01/805310324/1043/NEWS01

New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte joined attorneys general from nine other states to urge the California Supreme Court to delay finalizing its ruling to legalize same-sex marriage.

In a friend-of-the-court brief filed late yesterday, they said they have an interest in the case because they would have to determine if their states would recognize the marriages of gay residents who wed in California...

SNIP

Ron Prentice, chairman of the coalition sponsoring the proposed California Marriage Protection Act, said he welcomed having other states support the stay request.

"Redefining marriage will affect the entire nation, not just California," Prentice said. "There is no good reason for these four judges to create nationwide chaos when a ballot measure to reverse the decision is pending before the voters."
