One out of six Tennesseans admit to telling racist jokes about President Obama
from THinkProgress:

One out of six Tennesseans admit to telling racist jokes about President Obama.

In a new poll, Middle Tennessee State University finds that “nearly one in six Tennesseans has told a joke about Barack Obama’s race, and three-fourths say they’ve heard or read at least one.” The same poll found, however, that “only 15 percent of Tennesseans say they would find such a joke funny.” The New Republic’s Michelle Cottle, who is from Tennessee, writes that “you have to assume that the actual number of people who have told–or cackled at–a racist joke about POTUS is higher than the number who will admit to doing so.”

1. 1 in 6 tell a joke, "however only 15% find it funny."
There's a joke in and of itself.

5. It is, just as Bill Clinton's joke, "I didn't inhale" was.
This sort of hypocrisy is common when dealing with exorcisms of poisonous attitudes over long time spans even on a national level.

It will still take time to expunge racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia, lies about hemp/cannabis and many other things. We should always remember to not get discouraged over this, as all this sort of cultural poison needs to be destroyed.

This poll useful information to know, and give indication of how and where to focus the best effort to attack the headliner disease of this sort in the U.S.; racism. It is the worst.

6. That was no joke.
A lot of pot noobs don't inhale properly.

This story, however, is actually dumb.

Why you brought up Clinton and pot- I haven't the foggiest idea.

7. It is an example of the same variety of hypocrisy

And it is interesting to see coming from an effective leader who's administration actually helped this country over the course of two terms in the WH, unlike that of Bush.

Hope that clarifies that.

9. I don't see how it's hypocrisy.
Or what hypocrisy has to do with the OP.

11. Well, you believe him obviously,
I do not. If he smoked cannabis, he inhaled. He was conflicted, wanting to be forth coming only because he did no want to get caught in a lie, and tried to mitigate the impact of the truth, thus in that old instance we saw the quite real slimy sid of our 42nd POTUS. If some in Tennessee who were polled told the joke and then said anything but a little bit of racism in them existed, they lied like Bill did about smoking weed.

I would think that is obvious what I meant, but to each their own.

3. This makes me so ashamed that I am from Tennessee. On the
other hand, I did grow up there and turned out to be a dirty fucking hippy liberal so maybe there is hope.

10. Hello...this type of thing has been going on a long time
...I remember racial jokes from my grades school days, even in my government office mainly between
1970-1980 until federal administraters come down really hard on this activity.

In response to your post - whats the point?
