So, the Feds Knew All Along Who Killed Levy, But We Had to Wait For Obama to Clear Condit's Name?
The feds have known for almost eight years, but they deliberately refused to charge him with Levy's death, until a change in administration freed them to pursue a case against the obvious suspect, a man who was known to have attacked women in the same park at around the same time that she went missing, and whom plenty of people had ID'd as the killer---and I mean plenty of people if you read this Associated Press article. Sounds like the case against this guy could not have been sewn up any tighten if they had used a Singer Sewing Machine.

And still, the Ashcroft/Gonzo/Mukasey DOJ allowed the right wing to spread rumors that a Democrat, Condit did it all the way up until today? They ruined his career---what were they afraid of? That he would challenge Arnold for Governor?

The feds figured it was ok not to charge the obvious suspect and let the family worry and wait. They decided that it was better to try the Sears Catalog Bombers three times rather than go after a murderer 1) because they had the perp in jail on other charges so he wasn't going anywhere and 2) this story allowed them to smear a Democrat.

The Bush DOJ had nothing to do with Justice. It enforced all right, the way a mob family enforces. Extortion. Witness intimidation. Revenge prosecutions.

Can we hurry up with the prosecutions of the Bush federal prosecutors?

1. Like I told my Congressman
The Bush White House is run just like the mafia. At least if we had the mafia running the United States we'd have smart people leading us that know their ass from a hole in the wall!

3. If Fitz told them the Virgin Mary was a crack whore from Tijuana, they would call for deportation.

:nuke:

In Western Europe, you are innocent until proven guilty. In America, you are guilty until proven innocent. In Western Europe, they have universal health insurance for workers, too. That is because they are smarter there. They do not let themselves be distracted as often.

The next time Fitz or someone claims that a Dem has committed the greatest sin known to man, I will cite Condit, and the people here will say That isn't the same at all and I never for a moment believed he was guilty! . I'll bet you can not find a single person today who will admit that they jumped on the crucify Condit because he is not an uber left wing Democrat so this a good chance to get rid of him bandwagon. Not a one.

Someone prove me wrong. Will one DUer stand up and admit that they did not care whether Condit was guilty or not, they just wanted to see him out of office because they did not like him?

6. They wanted his seat (and they didn't get it)
At the time (2001) the Republicans had a razor thin majority in the House and Condit, a DLCer, was holding a Republican voting district in the California Central Valley. Through a long career of constituent service, being a DLCer and just the advantage that comes from incumbency, Condit was well entrenched into the seat. Republicans knew that if he was forced to abdicate by scandal that they would win an open seat race. Unfortunately for them, 2001-02 was also the time for redistricting. In California the Democrats ran the whole show. Not willing to stick their necks out for Gary Condit anymore, the legislature simply made Condit's old district more Hispanic and Democratic, and the state party then recruited Dennis Cardoza to dispose of Condit in the Democratic primary. That is what happened, and Cardoza is still the congressman to this day.

10. They also found another corpse in Joe Scarborough's room.
The dead female was Lori Klausutis.

Found in his room.

He was also a Representative, and he got his own tv show.

12. DOJ?
"Levy’s parents, Bob and Susan Levy, said in a statement. They said Feb. 20 that District of Columbia Police Chief Cathy Lanier had told them that an arrest was coming within days."

That horribly Republican administration in charge of DC, I assume.

"Key to breaking the case appeared to be interviews with witnesses who said Guandique had bragged to them about killing and raping women and had in two instances acknowledged killing Levy. Investigators interviewed the inmates last week, said a person close to the Levy investigation who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the investigation."

Last week, 2001, eh. Just time. It's relative, and, well, nothing notable happened in those 8 years.

"Investigators spoke with Guandique during 2001 and 2002 and at one point administered a polygraph test that was inconclusive. During that time, they also questioned his family and friends but found no leads related to Levy."

Suspected, but not "known." At least not in any official sense.

Sounds like the feds were involved but the investigation went nowhere. The media had a field day, but as we learned during the Duke "rapist" affair, seldom do investigators pronounce somebody "innocent".

Did we read the same thing?
