Why is Rush relevant?
Edited on Wed Mar-04-09 09:36 PM by Texasgal
Today, I listened to his show for a few moments while out to lunch. Libs were calling his show about his invite for Obama to participate in a debate ON HIS SHOW!

Why would any lefty call his show and talk to him about it?

Rush IS NOT RELEVANT! He is a stupid gas bag JUNIOR commentator. FUCK HIM!

He needs to be IGNORED!

1. I am proud to say I have done nothing to contribute to pigboy's ratings.
I don't see the draw unless you're an angry male.

Just stop. There, problem solved.

4. He's relevant because people listen to him
Just because we don't like the guy doesn't mean he's not relevant. He's relevant if he has as much sway over the GOP as he does. I don't really care "why" he has that much influence. I just know that he has it, and as such it becomes relevant.

Frankly I think its a great thing - because he is such a bafoon that putting this much faith into him is going to backfire on the GOP completely.

15. Do you really believe he is relevant to the point
of debate between him an OBama?

5. We have ignored him for 30 years...
He never goes away.

By feeding him he will eventually explode, the guts will blow all over the GOP. They are devouring themselves and we are just watching and I might add enjoying their self inhalation.

6. I think part of it is that he has the keys to the Anger House.
He keeps them almost exclusively to himself and lets those who dwell in the Anger House in and out, at his disposal and determination.

A lot of people who listen to Rush Limbaugh are driving around in their cars all day. They tune in to him because he's outrageous and stokes their resentments. They live in the Anger House and become resentful, begrudging bobble-heads whenever Rush jangles the keys.

Limbaugh validates their resentments. And rather than actually change their lives, their associations, their friends, and their values, they are lifted up by this traitorous gas bag blaring out of their dashboards 5 days a week.

10. All the barking dogs should be ignored.
They say something outrageous to get attention, sell books, etc.

Rush is an entertainer, not a politician or a learned thinker.

Obama or anyone else for that matter debating him would be the equivalent of debating Bozo the Clown. No point.

20. He's Their 800 Pound Albatross
Rushbo gets to throw stones and hide in his ivory tower...unaccountable and irresponsible. This symbolizes the current rushpublicans. He was a creation of theirs to "bypass" the media...actually create their own...and now the party that created him can't control him.

Remember, this fight really isn't about rushbo vs. President Obama or anyone on our side, it's between the rushpublicans and the republicans. Who do are their politicians responsible to? Their constituents or an "entertainer".

24. Beats me. He didn't even have enough influence among his
own Republican base to prevent John McCain's nomination,
and he tried real hard. He represents a very insignificant part
of even Republican electorate, to say nothing about the overall
population. To make him into some kind of "de facto" leader of
their party is the worst thing for GOP, and the best thing for
the Democrats. Who wouldn't want to face a Dittohead Party in
the next elections? A bunch of extremists with kooky ideas and
a loudmouth buffoon for a leader - that is getting into Vladimir
Zhirinovsky of Russia territory. I guess, they just can't wait to
face their destiny of irrelevance. But that's how democracy works -
discredited ideas are swept away and new ones are called upon.

25. He holds enough authority to force the RNC chair to publicly apologize. He's relevant.
I find him repulsive, however it's better to expose him in the light than to allow him to act without accountability in the shadows. Ignore him at your own peril.
