The Real Reason Why Santelli Backed Out of His Appearance on The Daily Show
Santelli's little tirade will prove to be a major embarassment because the parent company that pays him, GE, will soon be asking for a bailout themselves. That's right, Santelli's salary will be paid by the taxpayers:

http://www.businessinsider.com/ge-bailout-chatter-begins-2009-3

This is why CNBC is trying to put the brakes on his public appearances.

10. General Electric is more right-wing than the John Birch Society---!!!
For a long time they were one of the only companies to have defrauded the

government on military contract!! 1948, I think.

Recently, others joined in!

2. If that's true
I'm sure that Mr. Santelli won't accept another dime in compensation from GE/NBC just so that "someone else" isn't paying his salary, and certainly none of the other do-nothing millionaires at the Chicago Board of Trade.

Right, Mr. Santelli?

4. Since when did ethics have anything to do with broadcasting?
He doesn't care that his salary comes from the public dole anymore than he cares about the public interest. He's just like everyone else on Wall Street and in the corporate media - he just cares about his six or seven figure salary.

20. From Wikki
GE Capital is one of four major units of General Electric,<1> On 27 July, 2008, General Electric announced that GE Capital is once again a single unit of GE.

GE Capital is comprised of five sub-units: GE Aviation Financial Services, GE Commercial Finance, GE Energy Financial Services, GE Money (merged with GE Consumer Finance), and GE Treasury.

22. They aren't a "failure" they are succesfully pulling off consumer scams ---
Right now I've just had a DeLongi toaster oven die --
as I looked into it, it seems that about 25% of them die in from
one month/six months/one year.
Yet, they pretty much have the best reviews of any of the toaster ovens
beyond the Breville $250 models!

You could once buy a GE toaster oven for $29-39 which, if I had kept mine,
would probably still be running!

Most of our products are garbage now and Congress is letting it happen!

13. Not "soon to be", they already have been bailed out
to the tune of $139 billion. That's the amount of federal guarantees
extended to GE Capital in November of 2008. So Santelli's own salary,
past and future, is already backed by the taxpayers. Of course, he only
ranted about bailing out the "losers". The winners like himself deserve
all the bailout money they can get.

29. That would be my guess also
GE would love for everyone to forget that they have been cought red-handed catapulting propoganda.I'm sure there shills have already recieved their marching orders to muddy the waters and distract attention away from their scandalous,if not down right criminal, behavior.

I have to wonder what excuse or distraction they will try to use.

35. Socialism/fascsim by melt-down.
This is horrible. I am a liberal. I am neither a socialist nor a fascist. Government should not be funding private enterprise. Government should be regulating but not controlling private enterprise. And private enterprise should stand on its own two feet. It turns to taxpayers only after it has made a mess in its pants. Grow up GE.

If you hadn't outsourced all of the jobs of Americans, you would not have the problems you have today. Stop outsourcing and start hiring Americans, and your balance sheets will be back in the black.
