I wish Congress would understand that if they united that NOBODY would lose or gain
political capital. If the unanimously passed this measure, nobody would lose out in their home districts.
There are roughly 30% of toadheads out there who support the President.
70% is a MANDATE. A much larger mandate than the 51% that allowed this dufus to retain office.

1. Because the Rethugs brought us this war, and the President
accuses those who no longer support him of being traitors, and Karl Rove staked the 2006 elections on prosecuting this war to get out their base I want them to own it and own it big - right up to the next election.

By the way, 100 senators and all congresspeople voting against the President still would not get us out of Iraq or the region.

3. Used to be that Senators would stand by & help other Senators, if they could.
Then, if they could and if it didn't hurt the Senate or a fellow Senator, they'd help a Representitive. Members of the House felt similar obligations - their Chamber comes first, then the other Chamber & Congress as a whole.

Only after those obligations were met, then they would help the President. The neocons turned Congress from a seperate Branch of government equal to the Presidency & the Supreme Court, into a minor Agency under the Bush Administration.

4. Because alot of them will go down with him, when it finally opens up.
He can't do all this pirating alone. Many of them will go to jail if he falls.

they're protecting their own butts.

5. I frankly like the fighting. It is why I vote for them to go to Congress.
If they want love, as they say, get a dog and stay out of Congress. It is the place to fight for what you want. I do not want them to act like Lords and Ladies.
