Whatever happened to the Iraq Study Group?
And what was the purpose of the group if Bush was just going to ignore its members' sound advice anyway?

Didn't happen, obviously.

4. I can remember
thinking that it was an error for Bush to publicly show such contempt for the group's recommendations.

7. After weeks of speculation, he showed contempt. Then I read he
never even considered the ISG's recommendations in the first place, nor the other pols who tried to make their case. He knew what he wanted to do, and he did it. This is not presidential material, at all.
Scary when you think about it (possibly the most obvious comment I've ever written!).

3. The ISG was swallowed up into a black hole, including their deadlines
Some of their goals and objectives even had deadlines before the end of December, 2006!!1 And the members were out there for a WHOLE WEEK yapping about how important their group was. Gone with the wind that swept through the state of Insignificance---like Sandy Day O'CONNOR's judicial legacy!!1

6. Smirky referred to the ISG report as a "flaming turd"
And so the flaming turd was dropped in favor of the "surge" or the "spurge" or the "urge" or whatever the hell is the excuse of this month.

I am not kidding, he called it a flaming turd.

This is what the Supreme Court selected.

From the Wonderful Folks Who Brought You Iraq

The only American whose opinion mattered, however, was not impressed. Bush, Salon reported, slammed the I.S.G. study as "a flaming turd." If Rice even delivered Scowcroft's message, it had fallen on deaf ears.

8. I believe they have started 'drinking liberally'
Tried to help the dumb bastard and he was too stupid to take. Might as well drink themselves into a stupor.

9. Well, I believe that they are now encouraging whistleblowers.
(Not too many, and only about select, albeit damaging subjects) Bunnypants is out of control, and "steady" Unca Dick is a low class opportunist.
