The original articles are in that Latest Breaking News thread. From what I've read so far, this is not good at all for the USA.

2. It will mean foreign-made goods will grow increasingly more expensive.
The lower the value of the US Dollar, the more expensive foreign labor becomes. It's foreign labor that now manufactures most of America's consumer goods, not American labor.

4. A devalued dollar makes U.S. exports more attractive to foreign buyers.
That would make the ballistic missile defense system and genetically modified seeds more attractive to foreign buyers.

:sarcasm:

I think one should keep in mind that if oil is priced in Euros and the dollar should happen to fall against the Euro, then fuel would be priced higher here while remaining unchanged in Europe.
