US ban Winehouse - authorities turned down her visa request
US ban Winehouse

(Monday March 09, 2009 06:32 PM)

Amy Winehouse will be unable to perform at next month's Coachella Festival after American authorities turned down her visa request.

The singer was expected to make her return to the live stage at the event in the Californian desert in April.

However, US officials are said to have rejected her application after it emerged that she has been accused of attacking a fan.

Winehouse visited an undisclosed police station on Friday, following an incident at a ball in Berkeley Square in London last September.

A spokesman for the singer said today: "She is not appearing at Coachella this year in the light of current legal issues."

However, Amy is expected to perform at a special show to mark the 50th anniversary of Island Records in May.

3. Hey now...
I have to admit that while her personal antics are tiresome, she has a great voice.

5. LOL. I think you over-estimated the count
Unless you were counting Winehouse herself as one of the fans.

4. If I marry her, will she become a US citizen and then can sing here?
Then again, I've read many of her song's lyrics. I'd rather trust Jessica Simpson in any sort of union, and we all know the picture of her on the beach proving nobody would want to get scratchin' with her either...

8. She really needs to be institutionalized in
a facility that will address her obvious mental illness. I honestly think she is a sick woman who is not getting the proper psychiatric treatment she needs. I feel sorry for her. And she does have a wonderful and gifted voice.
