Former Bush White House liason and NASA official indicted on ethics charge

A former top NASA official has been indicted on charges of steering $9.6 million in agency funds to a consulting client.

The U.S. attorney's office announced a three-count indictment on Friday against Courtney Stadd of Bethesda, Md., who had served as NASA's chief of staff and White House liaison.

The indictment accuses Stadd of steering money from an earth science appropriation to Mississippi State University, which was paying him as a consultant. Stadd is also accused of lying to NASA ethics officials investigating the matter.

Stadd, who joined NASA as chief of staff in 2001 and left the agency in 2003, was President George W. Bush's NASA transition chief in 2000. Stadd "was centrally involved in the organization and management of NASA," said John Logsdon, a Smithsonian Institution space scholar

that these Bushwhack scumbums are getting ousted, and investigated. Can you imagine how these objective-minded scientists and engineers felt, squashed under the weight of Bushwhack corruption and whacko ideology, and the threats they've had to deal with? I can't imagine anything harder, except maybe being in the Bushwhack-run military. Everything you've devoted your life to, shat upon, sullied, hampered, politicized, sold out to corrupt interests, subjected to religious tests. The feeling of liberation at NASA must be great.

I know that Stadd has only been indicted--and is innocent until proven guilty. I also know that we must beware of wrongful charges by a Dept. of Justice that still contains many Bush-appointed U.S. attorneys and other operatives. There can still be many devious Bushwhack motives at work in who gets investigated and charged. We really need to be aware of this. Still, what Stadd is charged with is so typical of what the Bushwhacks were doing to every agency of our government--and the dates are right, as to the darkest hours of Bushwhack power, and troubles at NASA--that this indictment appears to be straightforward. And I'm sure that if it isn't, we will hear about it, because the "Iron Curtain" is off at NASA. I strongly suspect that there are smiles, if not cries of joy and champagne bottles uncorked, at NASA today.
