Remember that plane that ditched in The Hudson? Did anyone ever answer the question about pets?
During the first press conference, someone asked about whether there were any pets onboard, and if they were rescued. The guy from NTSB said he didn't know, but would report back.

I'm just curious if anyone's seen anything on that.

1. I believe a dog in the hold died
but that was the only pet I remember being mentioned.

4. No, didn't see anything about pets
But if pets were on board, they would have been in the luggage area in the belly of the plane and most likely would have drowned. When I brought my late brother's cat home, that is where she was stored.

5. I read and posted something here the day after that no pets died
I can't remember where I read it/ saw it, but it was a fairly reputable source.

I don't think any pets died.

6. I"m betting they drowned; otherwise we'd have tons of daytime talk show appearances by people who
saved the pets, people who own the pets, and the pets themselves.

7. U.S. Airways only allows pets in the cargo hold on a very limited basis:
Pets in cargo compartment:

Our hub cities of Phoenix and Las Vegas have extreme temperatures that regularly exceed 100 degrees. For the safety of your pet, US Airways does not accept any animals in its cargo compartments.

Exception cities:

US Airways accepts dogs, domestic cats and birds as checked baggage on nonstop US Airways Shuttle flights in the BOS/DCA/LGA markets only. Connections are not permitted. The customer must travel on the same flight. Customers should advise US Airways when they wish to transport a pet as checked baggage on a US Airways Shuttle flight.
