Religious, Civil Rights, Environmental Groups Support Employee Free Choice

by Seth Michaels, Mar 10, 2009

Today’s introduction of the Employee Free Choice Act in the U.S. House and Senate was a long-awaited day for working families and those concerned about the freedom to form unions.

The bill has widespread support, including a broad coalition of allies from the civil rights, religious, environmental and human-rights community.

1. Which is why Congressional Democrats don't need to act all apologetic and mimsy when it comes time
to get this thing passed. Do it because it's right, not because you're giving something else up somewhere else.

2. Americans love Unions at heart
I will always maintain that most people will support them in this country. It's part of our culture to like the little guy.

3. yes
We need to pass this, no excuses. It is time to take back the playing field that my Grandfather, Father and millions of others in the labor movement gave us through their work, sweat, sacrifice and sometimes heroic disregard for their own personal safety so that their children and grandchildren could have it better than they did. The Reaganomic neocon ideologues have damn near destroyed everything they gained for us. It is time for us to take it back....take to the streets if we have to, but it's past time for action.
