Star Wars Stamps
<http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070328/ap_en_mo/star_wars_stamps_1>

I don't personally give too much importance to these sort of things. I just found it interesting that Obama's urging for a stamp honoring Rosa Parks has not been done because 10 years hasn't passed since she's died. Can't there be an exception?

What would Yoda say? hmmmmm

3. You've got a point
Personally I could not care less if the USPS cuts deals with private companies to put their trademarked material on stamps. I am far more resentful of the fact that the USPS sells our information to the highest bidder. All that paper wasted on junk mail.

But you've got a point about Parks. If Congress can rename Washington's airport after RONALD F'ING REAGAN, buster of the airline employees' unions, before he even dies, AND threaten to pull funding for DC's public transportation system unless it changed every single mention of "Washington National Airport" to contain that bastard's name... well, putting Rosa Parks on a stamp doesn't sound like too much to ask.

5. If he requested a Ronald Reagan stamp, I'm sure they'd waive the rules.

6. Freedom Stamps
They have just issued a new stamp called the Freedom Stamp. It will not have an amount listed on it and if you buy it now, the PO will still take it after the price of stamps goes up on May 14th (as reported by CNN).

I need to buy stamps right now and hate to have to buy penny ones when the price goes up. However, I am absolutely SICK of "freedom" this and "freedom" that, from fries to towers to stamps.

I think I will just buy extra penny stamps instead.

12. Buy the breast cancer awareness stamps
Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 02:12 PM by Der Blaue Engel
They have no monetary value listed either. They cost a few pennies more, and the extra goes to fight breast cancer.

I've been using them for years, and don't even know how much first-class stamps cost anymore, because I never have to worry about making up any differences. They're good at the current rate, whatever it is.

edited for typo and weird missing text

7. well, considering that star wars took place a long, long time ago
in a galaxy far, far away, I think it's safe to assume all the characters have been dead for more than ten years...

(some would argue that Star Wars died with the birth of the Ewoks, but that's another discussion)

It seems to me that their would be enough private buisness support to keep stamp prices down. Apparently not...
