Edit: Give me a break. I'm foreign. I didn't expect they'd make THREE spelling mistakes in the SAME word!

4. I prefer "casting asparagus" myself.

Ah, it's good to laugh. Sure, they're conspiring to ruin ecosystems and start unnecessary wars and collapse our economy with their irresponsible ways and do away with all kinds of rights we already have and prevent however many groups they can from having the civil rights most of us take for granted... but still... you have to laugh sometimes, right?

LOL, I just looked up "drivel" at brainydictionary.com, and one of the definitions is A servant; a drudge.

12. Not to disrupt the groupthink, but
Over the years, I found the more I was online and the more I typed, the more "freeper" type errors I found myself making.

I found myself making mistakes that I had ridiculed others in my mind for.

It is almost like the mind works phonetically. I have found myself putting in words that sounded like the one I meant... I made the classic "their, there, they're" bobble...

We're all just human. (But some are more human than others...)

16. Sorry, even when I type quickly
Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 04:07 PM by GoneOffShore
I try to maintain spelling and grammar. And most programs I work with have spell check. No context check though. I do keep an eye out for the "their, there, they're" differentiation and other egregious errors.

I've seen far more errors from RW respondents than from our side of the aisle.

Sure, it's anecdotal, and your mileage may differ, but that's been my experience. Hardly seems to be 'group think'. That's what you find over "there".

:hi:

Welcome to DU!

20. I'm the same
I don't know if I type faster than I used to or what, but I find I make a lot more mistakes than I used to. And really really stupid ones. I try to edit them if I see them soon enough but I miss some too.

31. It's not groupthink, really it isn't
it's fact. I don't care if I make a spelling error in a post once in awhile, as everyone does, but at least on DU you don't have to spend time figuring out what the damn word is SUPPOSED to be.

The freepers spelling and grammar is unbelievably bad. In fact, I'm surprised on my rare forays into that world, when they get a whole sentence right. It goes beyond little spelling errors/mistakes - it's from the GWB school of grammar and spelling IMO.

Although when the winning word is "A" it might not help them much after all.
