Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.
One of my mother's sayings...pretty much true.

"Stick to the main tent and avoid the sideshows"...one of my father's sayings...very good advice!

"Keep your mind above your belt buckle"...advice from my father to my brothers as they went off to college...something all politicians should keep in mind, especially republican presidential candidates.

Really though, it is going to get pretty brutal before things get straightened out in this country and we all better "batten down the hatches" and "stick to the main tent".

3. You had wise parents...
...and it's true, things will get a lot worse before they get better. But get better they will.

4. Funny, from my perspective they've already
gotten better. Guess it's the prism we view things through.

5. I'm Watching From The Other Side Of The World :)
Its been a unique privilege to watch recent events unfold while vacationing with my son in Australia.

Ive been telling people here that if * attacks Iran or creates some other sort of MIHOP to deflect from his scandals, I will be applying for political asylum and staying.

I try over and over again to articulate the sad, hopeless desperation I have felt with regard to our misadministration. But I left that in the US, and Australia's msm is of course blacking out all news of this (seems like Murdoch owns all the airwaves here-everything is Faux this or Faux that). But the hopeless desperate feeling missed my flight.

I'm offering free tuna fish sandwiches to anyone who helps get rid of *co by the time I get back home in just over 2 weeks. :)

6. My dad told me in the doorway as I
was leaving for Chicago the day after I graduated, after I had been stuck working my tail off on our dairy farm home for 18 years..."You can always come back home if things don't work out, we'll always have potatoes"

7. I don't know how much worse it can get for many

I agree Raven :

Yeah , sure , if a person ahs a good job and money in the bank and the home has not been blown or washed away or their good paying job has not been outsourced then maybe one can think positive and actually say things are getting better .

I say as it stands now life in the US is a crap shoot and a hang onto hope situation .

Many more people will fall through the cracks well before and if things get better anytime soon .

This is what really burns my ass about some people who claim to be liberals or dems . What rose colored glasses are they looking through ? People come on here offering hope is one thing but it's quite another to sit there in the pink and say in their view things are getting better , well then include who it's getting better for , certainly now anyone sitting in a FEMA trailer in the Miss gulf coast or walking the streets sleeping under an over pass . Or some troop sitting in Walter Reed for years , THINGS ARE NOT LOOKING TO BRIGHT FROM THE PERSPECTIVE !!!!!!!!

14. As long as good people do nothing while awaiting the hero in a white hat ...
... we're in deep shit. Yes - it'll get far, far worse before it gets better and it'll only get better when we realize democracy is a Do It Yourself project, not something that can be purchased on the cheap at the local Wal*Mart. The supporters of varisou candidates sound EXACTLY like some brain-dead teen swooning over the latest plastic product of the recording industry. 'Spoiled' doesn't even begin to cover it.

Dissent isn't something that one gets permission for ... and isn't something that avoids offending. Until we're ready to leave our bodies bleeding in the streets, it'll get worse. With all the sophomoric crap I read here, I just don't get the sense that we "get it" yet. (Let me know when there's some REAL dissent - my aged carcass can block enough bullets to be of some use.)
