Army's Acting Surgeon General says DoD Doesn't Have the Money to Care for Returning GIs
The Army's new acting surgeon general said yesterday that she is concern about long-term morale because the military lacks money to hire enough nurses and mental health specialists to treat thousands of troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

"When the original plans were made, we did not take into consideration we could be in a long war," said Major General Gale Pollock. She became surgeon general this month after Kevin Kiley was forced to resign in a scandal over poor treatment of war-wounded at Walter Reed Army Medical Center

Long War hell if Bush has his way it will never end!

3. "Long War"
"we did not take into consideration we could be in a long war" - This seems to be in direct contradiction to all the Decider Administration's assertions that they ALWAYS told us this would be a 'long war' - DoD spin, meet White House spin...

4. And here it comes
The consequences of their actions. Thousands and thousands of American soldiers with real problems and no solutions. A huge share of a generation facing a life of poverty and extreme hardship, brought on by an Administration that sent them on a mission with no reason or plan.

The signature wound of this war is the head injury. Because of medical advances, more Iraq soldiers have survived these injuries than would have died in previous wars. Brain injuries. And Bush says: "So what?"

This is a crime.

8. Wait a cotton picking minute...the DOD is they only department
that ever since bush took office has been given overwhelming money. What the hell did they do with it. Oh I know..it went from Halliburton to cheney's pockets. I would love to know just how much money cheney has collected from the stock he still owns from Halliburton. After all they whole damn thing is not permissible under federal laws. He was supposed to get rid of the stock period..

15.  One would think after a year in Iraq
They would have known dman well this was not going to be the cake walk they said it would be . That would have been the time to begin making certain there was enough money to tend to the injured troops .

This entire mess was created for profit alone . I am still pissed at the fact that even if the Dems had no power to stop this war they could have at least used their time to stand up and tell the truth about what was going on . They had to know something was wrong .

Now what do you see bills inserted in bills just to get funding and bush calling these pet projects .

Baby steps is what I keep hearing . Who in trouble can wait for baby steps to develope into grown up leaps .

We didn't have to wait for elections for public outcry either .

This entire mess lands on most americans , especially those who felt this attack on Iraq was a great idea , mostly those who raked in huge profits off of it .

Politicians playing politics and people getting rich while people suffer and die and they talk about God and religion .

If the hypocrites where raptured away we would have 5% of the population left .
