Lawmaker suggests AIG execs be thrown into military jails
@ 1:55 pm by Michael O'Brien

AIG executives shouldn't kill themselves, like Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) suggested, but another Republican lawmaker has a different suggestion: let the military handle them.

"Those who received the fat-cat bonuses are mainly responsible for the company’s and the country’s financial problems," Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Texas) said during a speech in the House today. "I say hand them over to the Marines and throw them in the brig!”

(For the uninitiated, the "brig" is the name for a temporary incarceration chamber in the Navy.)

Johnson, a former 29-year career Air Force officer, said that his suburban Dallas constituents had flooded his email inbox with complaints about bonuses awarded to AIG executives while on the federal dole.

"I don’t blame them," Johnson said. "I’ve had it up to here with bad news about AIG and their big time bonuses. They need to return this money."

1. I agree
Waterboarding should be on the table, not for the "terrorists", but for these MoFo's.

2. Works for me. They destroyed our economy, so they are terrorists.
And I'm only about half joking there.

3. So Republicans are foaming at the mouth now after allowing the deregulation
that made all of this possible. They are one and the same.
