It's true that I have been unreasonably strident over the past weeks over the handling of the economic crisis, tending to side with the Federal Reserve, Paulson, Geithner, Kashkari, and Bernanke.
I know that has not been a popular position here with a lot of people, for good reason.
I'm sorry if I have come on too strong at times in defense of the approach being taken. I was wrong if I insulted anyone personally or engaged in personal attacks. We all hold opinions about what is happening, and they are all of value, especially when combined to form a larger picture.
But I've feared this sequence of events for about five years now, and I am simply scared shitless. I do believe things are far worse than we are being told, and that President Obama and his current team--including Ben Bernanke, who I am aware was brought in under Bush--are truly and simply doing their very best to deal with a time-bomb that is strapped to the entire planet.
In any event, I have made some brusque and rude posts about recent events and I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.
As I've said so many times before, my mind has been changed dozens of times here at DU by people more informed than myself, and I'm trying to learn more about the so-called AIG-Gate. I'm open minded, just scared to death.
