Shameless stalker whores at TMZ pipe in on Obama's Special Olympics gaffe
President Barack Obama made fun of the handicapped last night on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." He was making a joke about his bad bowling skills, but here's the question: If George W. Bush had said the same thing, would people be lashing out more? If so, why?

1. Because W is the definition of "special needs".
Laura gives him a medal every morning he gets out of bed without falling down, then the whole day progresses with little awards for everything he does.

Obama, on the other hand, is a Democrat - enough justification for any attack.

and you know it. I don't care who made the joke, the fact that they think it's funny is all I need to know. And if he didn't think it was funny, he wouldn't have said it.

I've posted enough about this today, don't feel like typing it all out again. This was felt by my family as a personal insult, and by several other of my co-workers as well. If you don't have a special needs person in your household, you wouldn't understand.

How is a parent of child, who cannot even comprehend the ridicule because of mental impairment, not entitled to take insult? Only mentally retarded people are allowed to defend themselves from insult and mocking? Bullshit.

6. Give me a fucking break.
I have a family member who has Down Syndrome and bowls every week. He's definitely a better bowler than Obama. I didn't take Obama's joke as an insult. I would've missed it all together if it wasn't for Olbermann mentioning it on his show.

Considering that Obama's administration is doing more for special needs people than the previous administration, and more than Sarah Palin for that matter, I really don't believe he was trying to insult people, just making fun of himself.

But, if feeling personally insulted floats your boat, go right ahead.

Most of them were better bowlers than me. And believe me the ones that were most intolerant of them being in a league with us "regular" people were the conservative redneck Bush voters.

but I'm sure he'll do a lot more for special needs people than has been done in decades by any president. Bush was well known for mocking a prisoner before she was executed, yet the RW didn't seem to think that was a big deal.
