I know that I wouldn't trust him, and my chances of getting impregnated are pretty slim.

18. Then the question becomes how well do you have to know him before you take him at his word?
Trust issues affect both sexes.

Now, would I trust him to take it every single day?

16. The advice I always got is if a guy says he's had a vasectomy, ask to see the scar first
Anyway I would depend on how well I knew the guy and how reliable he was. I know a few women who were technically "on the pill" who got pregnant anyway because they didn't take the pills every day.

37. The Pill nowadays is too low a dose to tolerate any error, such as using antibiotics...
Took me awhile to figure that out. I thought someone must have forgotten, but it turned out to be so. Missing doses is even more problematic.

with my life, because that is what I'd be doing.

However, I'd still want him to wear a condom if we weren't trying to produce a pregnancy. Pregnancy isn't the only danger from sex.

I don't get it when guys bitch that "she got pregnant" as if she did it by parthenogenesis. Guys: use a condom. Gals: if you don't know what to do, visit Planned Parenthood and they will clue you in.

And for males and females who don't ever in this lifetime want a kid or more kids: get your tubes tied.

Oy.

43. Since there's only one man in my lfe I'm going to screw, and I trust him....
... then yes, I would trust him if he said he was on it. Then again, he does NOT want children.

I do think, however, that men would be more willing to take a birth control pill than people think. Child support is expensive. And as much as I wish my gender was automatically trustworthy, there are women who will say they are on the Pill and not be. It'd be a great backup for those men who do not want to father a child right now.

50. That's a good point
I've known women who say that they are the pill, but "oops!" They get pregnant and act all giggly and say, "How in the world did THAT happen?" It's obvious to everyone that they were only pretending to be taking their pills, leaving the guy they were with stuck in the moral dilemma of having a girlfriend who is not only pregnant, but untrustworthy, as well.

Not a good way to bring a new life into the world, in my opinion.

I've told my sons that they need to be prepared for anything if they choose to have sex. Fortunately, my adult sons haven't had any issues yet; both of their girlfriends want to finish college as badly as my sons do, and everyone is happy.

I agree that the male pill would be a great backup plan.
