Where's the Depression?
In the fall we were told that such a thing was imminent if we didn't act.

Well, we bailed out these firms and none of the money went where it was intended (to free up the credit markets) and...surprise!...no depression.

And what are we being told now? Same thing.

Sorry. I'm not believing it this time.

We're being ripped off and lied to by corporations, CEOs and gov't officials in both parties and all levels.

2. We can't have the depression until they get ALL THE MONEY.
Give them time, stealing TRILLIONS is hard work.

7. Exactly. If they want to create trillions and give it away, just give it directly to the people.
They say they need to create demand for goods and services.

That'll do it.

6. A Depression for us, a catered champagne and caviar party for the bankers
We get to pick up the check. Simple as that.

8. Wall Street said they would be depressed without money.
And would take it out on us.

9. No depression eh?

Tell that to the people who make up the latter half of this chart. People with their head buried in the sand do not get to determine what state the rest of us are in.

11. You seem to be equating "Depression" only with the richest.
That is not what a depression is, having the richest fall. We are being ripped off and lied to, but the depression is here and real for most of us people.

13. Agree. The wealthy never feel the pain of depression
the rest of us do. There are many people who believe we are in a depression, no matter what we hear on the 'news'. This is not getting better. Even with the jobs created by the stim bill, it won't keep up with rising unemployment. Rough times ahead. We need to look out for each other cuz wallstreet sure as hell isn't looking out for us.

12. What's Money Worth
...when you have nothing to spend it on. When factories are closed, malls are shuttered and the "good life" can't be sustained as there is no longer a middle class consumer/debt market to sustain it. Wall Street can screw us six ways from Sunday and every time they do so, they screw themselves as well. They still haven't gotten it.

14. We are still in the early stages of it.
A technical "Depression" lasts anywhere from 3 to 7 years.

Don't worry.

If you haven't personally "seen" it yet - you will.
