Rethink Afghanistan
Edited on Thu Mar-26-09 12:12 AM by ConsAreLiars
Robert Greenwald (Brave New Films) has put up the second video of his experiences in Afghanistan, as he travels where he can in the course of putting together a full length documentary.

I recommend following these videos as Greenwald gathers information if you want to understand Afghanistan a bit better than the Corporatist Media would want.

edit to add: There's a review of this project in the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/23/movies/23gree.html?_r=2&ref=movies

If you haven't yet done so, take a bit of time (or a whole lot) to look though http://www.lukepowell.com/ A professional gallery grade photographer who has made several visits from 1973 through 2003, including a stint with a de-mining organization. He cares passionately about the people, and introduces his online sample gallery with these words:

"It is important for those living in the industrial world to develop an appreciation for cultures that are sustainable, to learn to see beauty and survival in a world where people walk, live in daily contact with animals, raise their own food, pray, and live in families. Such people have as much to teach us as we have to teach them."
