Glenn Beck is such a complete simpleton, it boggles the mind

I just heard him advocate for an American torture program in lieu of rendition, then he complained that it's "immoral" if we don't fight to win the phony "War on Terra".

It's impossible for anyone to be even more stupid than this jackass.

hang on his every word. I see it at work and it troubles me what these zombies are spouting and doing.

who are enthusiastic about severe forms of punishment for people they fear. We are one of the few developed countries that still executes people. We have one of the highest rates of incarceration in the world. We claim to be a beacon of freedom and yet we torture people and jail them indefinitely without a fair trial. We had popular support for a war against a country that posed no direct threat to us.

It just seems that Americans in general have a much higher rate of bloodlust and vengeance.

Until those things get flipped in the American people's minds, then the violence will continue.

Ours is a culture of death, not life.

We celebrate killing, murder and death, not birth, procreation and life.

Its f'd up and bass-akwards, if you ask me.

America's national religion isn't Catholic or Baptist or any of the usual suspects. We subscribe to the High Church of Redemptive Violence, and it's so ingrained in our culture that we barely even notice it. High rates of incarceration, but are we any safer walking down the street? Guns anywhere and everywhere. Popular entertainments show the virtues of meeting any problem with overwhelming violence. Solving a problem through negotiation and compromise is denigrated as the Way of the Wussy. It reaches all the way down to kids' games, cartoons and other diversions designed to inculcate our newest citizens with the HCRV-approved methods of conflict resolution.

I don't think he's stupid as much as he is an adept at pushing the stupid buttons of his stupid audience. What he is is dangerous. He is very good at getting his fans to believe his little act and (so far) he's very good at drawing an audience. He uses "we" and "us" words, while deliberately speaking the language of racism, fundamentalism, fear and hatred. He knows exactly what he's doing and he doesn't care.

And there are a shitload of Simpleton-Americans.

If I was forced to choose (and by "forced", I mean having to choose between watching any of these assholes or having my eyes put out with a spoon) between watching either Rush, Bill-O, Insannity, Savage Weiner, or Feck, I'd watch any of the first four before I'd watch Feck.

and gets paid for that stupidity.
