Military sends help as uncertainty floods Fargo
At least that's what the headline said on the CNN website until just a while ago. But, the story's still there with an amended headline:

Red River reaches record level, floods Fargo with uncertainty

<snip>

FARGO, North Dakota (CNN) -- Fifteen helicopters from the U.S. Northern Command along with active-duty military personnel are being sent to Fargo, North Dakota, to assist the state as it prepares for possible record flooding, a U.S. military official told CNN.
Valley Water Rescue volunteers patrol the Fargo area in search of people who need help evacuating Friday.

The military personnel being sent to Fargo are from a "contingency response force" made up of active-duty troops, the official said.

The staging area for relief at Fargo Air National Guard Base has been affected by the crisis and more help is needed, the official said.

The swollen Red River broke a 112-year-old flood record Friday and threatened to rise further as as the city's mayor vowed to "go down swinging."

Positive vibes are needed for the people of Fargo and Moorhead.

4. I heard it described by a resident as the only place where a blizzard and a flood can meet.
There are evacuations going on now.

7. I'm glad they're helping too
I'm a big fan of the military.

Unfortunately, anytime the military does anything state-side, it's martial law!

:hi:

6. All the melting snow is going to cause a lot of flooding this
spring, I'm afraid. We had such a harsh winter in the U.S.
