God made me a blond, blue eyed Conservative.
Kid you not.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/03/why_be_a_conservative.html

I was born a conservative. I was born with the yearning to be free. My love of liberty has been an inherent part of me as much as my blond hair and blue eyes. God gave me a conscience to know what is right and wrong.

7. And did you notice that the cartoon Uncle Sam
at the top looks as if he is getting ready to, or just vomited?

5. WAR IS PEACE! FREEDOM IS SLAVERY!
When wing-nuts say us "socialists" want to take away their "freedom" the 1984 line "FREEDOM IS SLAVERY" always pops into my head.

6. This is very important to understand, so it can be exploited.
It is important to exploit this so they don't regain power and fuck things up so badly again.

"They", being smug, self-righteous "conservatives", aren't going to evolve. Evolution, ironically, is anathema to "conservatives".

Note that I put the word in quotes. They define themselves as "conservative". I am not so sure, as I cannot reconcile their radical extremism with real conservativism.

I have to put some more thought into this because herein lies the key to the whole deal, I think. Currently we're doing well in the war that these people are waging against reality. However I still have a bad feeling, as perversions of the truth, like "creation science" and "supply-side economics" and global warming denial and anti-abortionism and birthers . . . still run amok.

I can accept real conservativism. The dominant brand, in this country today, uh uh.

8. I think the liberal/conservative labels are not helpful in defining the differences
between the political poles. I prefer socialist/anti-socialist. The Right spends lots of energy defining us as socialists. OK, I can accept that. Ultimately we are concerned about social justice, community, and equality. However, by definition, that makes them anti-socialists. Anti-socialism is a focus on the individual at the expense of the community. A lack of compaasion, even aggression against the common good. We all know that anti-social behaviour is an apt descriptor for maladjusted individuals who exhibit/commit criminal acts. The rule of law is held in contempt by the anti-socialist. Ultimately, it is a freeloading philosophy - the anti-socialist benefits from socialism, but gives nothing in return.

9. I was raised to be a conservative monarchist.
And I still am. The problem in America these days is that it puts me well left of center.
