Poll question: Let's play: Fact or fiction, conspiracy edition.
If I told you there was a secret U.S. Air Force base in Hollywood, nestled among million dollar homes of movie stars, with a film studio which produced thousands of propaganda films and performed other classified tasks would you believe me?

Just curious as to how people handle new information.

1. I'll bite. Sounds like something that would have happened in earlier times when Hollywood
was an active part of the war propaganda machine.

But, an Air Force base?

2. The Bush Crime Family actually admitted they were doing this in 2001
So I don't know about the "secret Air Force Base", but the propaganda films are real.

Hell, that new Nicolas Cage movie has some very subtly placed "Remember 911 !!!11!!!11" crap in it.

3. Why Would You Believe OR Disbelieve Anything
based on an unsubstantiated report?

That's how people end up with very strange views of the world.

4. Nothing surprises me anymore. I forget the journalist/author who has covered....
...this for some time, the fact that Holly weird does actually work very closely with various govt/military/alphabet orgs re how certain 'facts' are dealt with and 'overseen' in many popular movies. I've seen him interviewed on CSPAN's Booknotes.

5. It seems reasonable that the military would want to shoot its propaganda films

in Hollywood, since that would mean easier access to equipment, actors, and film-industry workers. I wouldn't "believe" or "disbelieve" you, since you've presented no evidence either way, but the claim is reasonable enough.

6. I'd say "plausible - where's your proof?"

And I know that the fact I'd say "plausible" would open me to attack from the agents who infest this site.

9. BTW: There's such a base in San Antonio, Texas...
....

On an abandoned Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas, editors for the Joint Hometown News Service point proudly to a dozen clippings on a table as examples of success in getting stories into newspapers.

What readers are not told: Each of these glowing stories was written by Pentagon staff. Under the free service, stories go out with authors' names but not their titles, and do not mention Hometown News anywhere. In 2009, Hometown News plans to put out 5,400 press releases, 3,000 television releases and 1,600 radio interviews, among other work -- 50 percent more than in 2007.

The service is just a tiny piece of the Pentagon's rapidly expanding media empire, which is now bigger in size, money and power than many media companies.

7. Not nearly enough info
If it was in amonst homes, it almost assuredly wouldn't be a base. If you are asking me whether I'd be surprised to find out that the US government generated propoganda. No. That much of it was done in a manner to hide their involvement. No. That the government has classified "fronts" in the US. No. Not sure why this would fall under the guise of the Air Force, but military personell get used for CIA operations all the time.Alternately, this kind of thing could so easily be done through subcontracts I'm not sure why they'd bother. And it'd make it easier to hide their hand in the work.

11. All the major studios have produced propaganda films
Many with the approval & assistance of the US Air Force. It stands to reason they have an office there.

12. Just another example of government waste
Were it not for interservice rivalry and empire building, the Air Force could have used the secret soundstage in New Jersey where NASA faked the moon landings.

Bet few know that famous RW media mogul RevMoon had a little group in the 60s that he took around the world and they were heavily promoted by American television variety shows - The Little Angels.
