2. If you click on the link in the email...

and then click "Home" that should bring you to "your" twitter page. This should be the Twitter page of whoever is "you" on Twitter.

3. Those are probably invite emails from people you know that use Twitter.

I get some of those in one of my email accounts... Subject "So-and-so wants to keep up with you on Twitter".
