Sarah Palin Lashes Out at Levi Johnston for Sex Talk on Tyra

After taking about sex on The Tyra Banks Show, Johnston – the 18-year-old father of Bristol Palin's baby – was hit with a blistering response from Bristol's mother, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship," says the statement from the Palin family rep.

"Bristol's focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence," the statement continues. "It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child."

The statement ends, saying, "Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

Bristol, much to her credit, already stated that abstinence only is wholly untenable and unrealistic. I feel sorry for the young woman, and I hope someday she's able to recover a meaningful life out of the public eye. She's just a kid, trying to raise another kid and between her mother and the relentless gutter-snipes that can't stop themselves from oozing hateful glee at every problem she encounters it must be very difficult.

Johnston said he was sharing a room with Bristol Palin in the governor's home prior to their recent break-up. He moved into the Palin home about one to two weeks before Bristol gave birth and was living there until they broke up.

Seems like it would be difficult to set up child support payments with no income to reference. Can they do something based on potential earnings or a percentage of future earnings? As far as I know, child support is based on current earnings, and requires a new hearing to make any adjustments.

If the noncustodial (hereinafter called deadbeat) gets better job, or teevee interviews, etc, custodial parent can request adjustment. In any case, if deadbeat owes money, of if DCF thinks it is justified, it can be made up at tax refund time.

I also believe that had she become VP, Levi and Bristol would have married, so that POTUS beta 1.0 could have more strongly advocated her positions on birth control, abstinence, and anti-abortion from the White House.

Any teenager is going to be tempted to have sex, but I'm guessing that a girl whose parents are narcissists is going to be particularly susceptible to thinking that security and happiness come from true love and everything that implies. And after her mother took political advantage of Bristol's decision to not have an abortion as an example of her "family values," now her baby daddy is making a buck off her, too. I really do feel sorry for that poor girl.
