10. The quote is actually a paraphrase of a Bible quote.
In that context, what is given is the blessing from God to achieve these great things. Since God entrusted these gifts to you, you should share them with those that are not so blessed.

Remove the passives and perhaps we could talk. Given by whom? Required by whom? Who has the right to do the requiring? Does it matter what's given, or just by whom?
