BY ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEW YORK---- Authorities say a woman who jumped to her death inside a busy New York City mall landed on a teenager, causing injuries that sent him to a hospital.

The lower level of the Queens Center Mall was packed with high school students on spring break when the woman jumped Wednesday.

Seventeen-year-old Derrick MuInoz had been sitting in a massage chair with a sign reading, "sit back and relax," when the woman landed on him.

4. I saw a woman jump to her death when I was living in Russia a few years ago. I still have
nightmares about it.

I hope the teenager gets some psychological help because this is very traumatic.

5. I hate to admit it also, but ...

the phrase "shop till you drop" came to mind.

I just can't help it.

10. OMG
Yep, that's true gallows humor. Sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying.

6. I read about a man who jumped off a building but was totally unhurt
because he landed on someone--rendering him a quadriplegic. Here's hoping that a lawsuit was involved.

7. It's not like the kid wandered into her landing zone--he was already
sitting in a chair. How inconsiderate, and terrible aim.

11. My old boss (the chef) was hit TWICE in his life
by people trying to jump to their deaths.

Both times, jumpers survived and he had only minor injuries.

He was an odd egg, that one.

14. Does he play the lottery??? He really should, given his
penchant for being metaphorically hit by lightning.
