Tigers to honor auto companies at opener
The Detroit News

The Tigers are planning three ceremonial first pitches as they open their 10th season at Comerica Park Friday.

Detroit native Kid Rock will show his support for Detroit and the Big Three automakers as he delivers the ceremonial first pitch baseballs to Loretta Abiodun, David Edgar and Pete Reyes.

Abiodun, who is representing General Motors, has worked for the company for 35 years and currently works at Detroit Hamtramck Assembly in the Quality/Communications department.

Edgar, representing Chrysler, has worked for the company for 34 years and currently works at Warren Stamping as a sheet metal worker.

Reyes, representing Ford, has worked for the company for 22 years and works at the Product Development Center in Dearborn as the chief engineer of the new Taurus.
