Campbell's Soup donating tomato seeds for soup purchases
Edited on Sat Apr-11-09 11:56 AM by csziggy
http://www.helpgrowyoursoup.com/ - This is an annoying and slow Flash page, but it is the only way to donate. You can also get your own seed and donate additional packets by entering the code from the bottoms of soup cans.

"Campbell and FFA, along with the assistance of Urban Farming (a not-for-profit community gardening association), are working to grow community gardens in six urban areas across the country. In addition, Campbell is partnering with Partners in Active Learning Support (PALS), a mentoring program of the National FFA Organization, to help build agricultural learning greenhouses in schools." http://www.helpgrowyoursoup.com/projects.aspx

And while you've bought the soup, save the labels into their Labels for Education program: http://www.labelsforeducation.com/

PDF instructions for the Labels for Education program: http://www.labelsforeducation.com/PDF/submission_instructions.pdf

4. These urban garden programs are a wonderful thing. They bring people
together, they provide people with a sense of pride and accomplishment when they create something as positive and beneficial as a garden (both vegetable AND flower), they're a great learning experience, and the food goes to good use.

There are many other positives. But urban gardening program really deserves kudos for what they do.

6. Besides, when a corporation is willing to be generous, we should help them give!
Campbell has been supporting education with their Labels for Education Program for decades. I'm pleased to see them support the FFA (Future Farmers of America) especially in areas where farming seems unlikely.

I've got a bunch of Campbell's soups in the pantry - I will go ahead and get some seeds, though it is late to plant them here.
