To call his welcome, warm, is understating it.

9. He's talking about the banks now
and AIG. He says AIG created a hedge fund on top of an insurance company. Saying they're trying to unfreeze lending outside the banking system.

16. since the insurance industry is heavily regulated...wouldn't creation
of that hedge fund be criminal?

7. I've read the speech. It's good, but basically a summary.
No new news or anything. Still, it does provide a good outline of what's been done and what needs to be done.

8.  giving money to banks will equal $8-10 in loans to consumers....
ya... but who can get a loan (credit) when they don't have a job?

Bring our jobs home... stop outsourcing. Simple.

11. OK I get it we have to fix the banks
This seems like a re-delivery of his Economic Speechifying #1 maybe #2 from weeks back. A Byzantine, multi-hydra headed construct that would seem to be pointing inward, in shifting latitudinal/longitudinal circles, and outward all at the same time

14. It was pretty good I thought...
As far as nailing the general issues, and using the bully pulpit responsibly. Of course there is a fantasy list of issues I wish he could talk about directly (krugman & prog economics, criminal prosecutions in finance, long term economic benefit figures of implementing successful econ plans) i think it was a decent speech. better than anything else on tv thats for damn sure.

13. I think it was at George Washington University (even though
Obama said "Georgetown" once). I'm a GW alumna, and we are always being confused with Georgetown.
