8. NAFTA, CAFTA, and all these other so called free trade deals are not
David Ricardo's free trade. They're outsourcing/investment scams. It's not free trade when we give trading partners 15 years to lower their tariffs and we lower ours almost immediately. It's not free trade when our trading partners put a 20-30 percent VAT on our goods, yet we have zero VAT on their goods. It's not free trade to move labor/capital out of the US just so greedy CEOs and investors can make a fortune by firing $20.00 an hour American workers and paying Asian workers 20 cents an hour, along with avoiding consumer safety and environmental laws.

7. I voted for him.
Even back then as a green 18 year old I saw the scam that was to be "free" trade.

11. THE biggest disappointment of the Clinton admin: NAFTA. I was stunned when he passed it. I've grown
up a lot since then!

12. I didn't vote for him in 1996 because he sold us out with NAFTA
in 1993 and GATT/WTO in 1994.

18. I voted for Perot, also.

I knew he was right about the "giant sucking sound," and I knew that the head honchos of both parties really didn't give a darn about my future (save for the Dems being better about certain social issues, such as choice).

16. Ross was right about free trade but his son was profiting off of
free trade when Ross was running for Prez. That's how Gore undermined Perot's public opposition to free trade.

Note: I'm not a pro-free trader, but Ross Perot was hypocritical about it. I prefer not to use Perot when discussing the disadvantages free trade brings America.
