During WWII people shut their mouths and paid their taxes without bitching and complaining

You know, WWII, that war that conservatives like to constantly compare to the "War on Terror".

During WWII taxes were raised tremendously, through the freaking roof, and not just for rich people either. To bitch and complain about your taxes was deemed unpatriotic and un-American. Good Americans were supposed to shut their mouths and pay their taxes.

A "tea party" during WWII to protest taxes would have been treated as an overt act of subversion, giving direct aid and comfort to Hitler and Tojo.

4. A woman I work with is going to the "Tea Party"

An otherwise smart woman who swoons anytime a Repub waves a bible and a flag in her face. She does not question anything a repub tells her. For many of them, I would bet, it doesn't matter what the issue is, or the facts are, they bow to their masters without question.

to organize against citizenship. Or to promote unjust war. Or even to try to arouse people to rise up against their elected government.

What did people ever do without Fox News?
