I’ve got a bad feeling about this, I hope I’m wrong
I guess I should just put on my tin foil hat, but all these tea-baggers make me nervous. Let’s face it, they’re the bat-shit crazies of the Republic party, and they’re being egged on by Glen Beck and all the other little Goebbels of Fox News. I’m scared one of these Timothy McVeigh wannabes is going to do something violent, and we’re going to get the blame. And it wouldn’t matter if Rush Limbaugh himself was caught on camera blowing the brains out of Ted Kennedy on live television, the right wing media would find some way to spin it that it was Obama’s fault.

2. If a tree falls in the
woods, and there is no one around to hear it. Does it make a sound?

As citizens, they are allowed to peacefully protest. And I am allowed to peacefully ignore the batshit crazy motherfuckers. Does it make a sound?

3. Either our fault
or they would say some guy in a turban was spotted at the scene of the crime.

You may well be right. I never imagined such things until the Oklahoma City bombing. Now it seems like rhetoric that was once only spewed in wacko conspiracy theory circles has become standard right wing media talking points through Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck. This crap gets legitimate air time, and that just keeps astounding me. You used to have to search through paranoid web sites to find the crap Fox News puts out every day.

4. They have Right to Assembly just as we do
I doubt they're going to do much more than get wet in the rain today (at least on the North East coast).

5. Missing the point
I don't think the original post was intended to say they have no right to protest, but to point out that these protests are just the legal front for perhaps criminal desires being stirred up by right-wing media.

We can turn our heads all day to the perfectly legal protests, but if another Federal building blows to pieces we shouldn't act shocked. Tea parties or no tea parties, the rhetoric of the right has criminal undertones. And if the kind of crap Glen Beck is spewing was coming out of a Mosque somebody would be investigating.

Fucking A, right on! That might be one of the most truthful statements I've come across in quite some time.

7. Well, that sword can cut both ways, don't you think?
I have little question that what the Hanniturds and B(l)ecks are doing is bordering on illegal, but as long as the folks go out, have their protests and go home, I've got no issue with it, other than strong disagreement with what they're whining about.

The right spent the last eight years calmoring for investigations into peace activists (and in some cases got what they wanted). I hope that law enforcement is pursuing these people where they see need. At the same time, I have little doubt that Hannity, Beck, Coulter, et. al. are hoping, nay, dreaming that law enforcement acts aggressivly towards the teabaggers so they can point out how they're being silenced.

I think they're in some sort of bizzaro world contest to see who can draw an FCC (or FBI) investigation first, because they want the rating spike that would go with it.

9. I have no problem with their liegal protests either
and law enforcement shouldn't be duped into believing that these are the problem. They are not the problem. With or without their legal protests, the problem is with the rhetoric from the right-wing media. I never heard left leaning media border on instructing peace protesters to do harm to George Bush or to try to overthrow the US government when he was President. But that is how right wing media instructs the folks who will be peacefully protesting in the tea party events.

11. There is a slight difference between peace groups inciting peace,
and Beckists inciting violence.

"Peaceably assemble". When the instigators are spewing hatred and violence, they are NOT advocating a peaceable assembly.

8. Angry Lefties make signs, demonstrate, call Reps. Angry Righties shoot people in the head
blow up buildings, and crash airplanes.

Count on some heinous, senseless violence, and count on the voice of calm and reason to be drowned out by Ratings and Advertisers.

12. That's why I think it is a good day to stay away from them. They are
batshit crazy. Staying away from them give the cops a clear aim if one of them goes off and starts shooting at government buildings or people coming out of them.

Yeah, they make me nervous, too. They are the ones that use force to get what they want, saying it is in the best interest of the country, etc.

BTW, Law and Order on TNT (a repeat) had a good show last night about a science teacher at a christian school getting murdered. The man responsible said it was because the teacher was trying to teach his daughter that ID/creationism was wrong and he was defending her from "corruption", but his ulterior motive was he thought the science teacher had been having sex with her. Turns out, she had had sex with the christian school counselor. He killed the wrong man.
