Obama was supposed to sign his first budget right after Easter
Did he? Was the budget process complete and has it been signed into being yet? It was supposed to contain over a half trillion toward health care. Does anyone know what that entails?

1. Both house and senate versions passed but they have to go to
conference committee (next week after spring break?) for further debate and final version.

2. The President does not sign the budget because it is not a law. (nt)

3. You may be mistaken
I distinctly remember Obama saying he would like to sign it right after Easter Break.

I've worked on these issues for years, directly. Perhaps he said he'd like Congress to pass it by Easter.

Here's a good, short primer on the budget: http://www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Section=HENA&template=/CM/HTMLDisplay.cfm&ContentID=22938

5. Not yet, at least.
But, if you think that the budget that's ultimately passed by both chambers of Congress isn't a 'law' (i.e. statute) or doesn't require a Presidential signature (in lieu of a pocket veto), then I'd suggest you return to grade school Civics class.

6. I suggest you actually go to a civics class.
The budget is NOT a law. It is a parliamentary procedure, a minimally binding resolution at best. It sets the framework under which the appropriations committees begin their work.

This is not to be confused with budget reconciliation, which is an entirely different thing altogether and is a binding law.

7. Congratulations. You've engaged in the most asinine hair-splitting seen on DU this month.

9. Congratulations - you incorrectly insulted someone and couldn't even apologize for it.
Good job.
