Do we as a country want people working in our intelligence agencies that
would want to torture people. Obama says he wants to protect all these hard working Patriots in the CIA that tortured under the assumption that America wanted them to. That they felt they were "covered" by legalities. Do we want these people to still be in that position? I feel if the underlings were to turn states evidence they might walk but to still have them in that position makes me wonder when it will happen again. I for one do not want such a person representing America or working for America in such a sensitive position. Why do we need to protect them? America needs to really clean house or we can expect even worse the next time.

1. No, I don't. If torture is OK, then we owe some folks at Nuremberg an apology.
http://www.foothilltech.org/rgeib/english/orwell/primary_sources/nuremberg.html

On 1 October 1946, the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg delivered its verdicts, after 216 court sessions. Of the original twenty-four defendants, twelve (including Martin Bormann, tried in absentia) were sentenced to death by hanging.

This country is finished if just following orders is okay.

5. The only reason why there was..
a Nuremberg is because Germany lost the war. When the United States loses influence in the world we will be held to account. Might makes right, and all that.

8. Exactly, which is why it's important to stay on top
Except that when Mugabe visits England he does so under the protection diplomatic traditions.

2. My bet is that no one is going to be prosecuted for war crimes.
I have 0 confidence in anything this fucked up government does or tries to do. The oligarchy controls everything.

4. Isn't it a bit naive to think..
that our plethora of intelligence agencies act within the law? Why do we teach torture at the School of the Americas..or whatever they call it these days? Their budget is classified. Much of what they do is not even known by Congress..and I'm sure members of Congress want it that way. How else do you become and empire?

7. Yes it is very naive but here's the deal
Ask enough questions and someday a real answer will spring forth..

6. It is not possible for one Party to prosecute the leaders of another Party...
unless there are some in the other Party that are willing to defend the laws of our country and are willing to investigate and to make public the truth to the people. It is political suicide to try otherwise.

9. No.
These people have transcended the bounds of civilized behaviour. The fact that medical personnel were involved should revolt every single person.

It's horrifying, revolting and utter repulsive.
