Says the fact that Hitchins tried water boarding means it's not torture. This is tortured logic.

"lowest rung"? A ladder might, but the rungs of a ring (if such exist) would all be on the same level.

N.B. Dante reserved the lowest ring of his Inferno not for torturers, but for hypocrites, i.e., the Ted Haggards and Mark Foleys of his time.
