THEY ARE GOING TO GET THEM!
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzo, the whole lot of them. The memos are proof that these people broke the law. Obama know this, that's why he released them!

It's gonna happen. Just BE FUCKING PATIENT. It's gonna happen. These fuckers are going to be prosecuted!

5. and that matters why?
I am so tired of the 'next' election always being used as some panacea. I can't wait until the 'next' election, or the one after that, or the one after that.

10. what? that if they are not prosecuted..
Obama won't be re-elected? Did I misinterpret something? Is this the only ramification for inaction? Am I supposed to sit back and watch what happens, and say..well..if they don't do what I want them to, I won't vote for them "next" time?

14. My bad.
Seemed like you had read it as saying Obama would lose reelection if he DID prosecute. But I take your point now.

16. Obama will be re-elected in 4 years
only if the economy has shown major improvements. If the unemployment rate is above 10% it will matter little if Bush and Cheney have been prosecuted.

2. Obama was compelled to release the memos
as a result of an ACLU FOIA lawsuit.

3. Again with this "secret plan" hogwash.
This is wishful thinking. There is no evidence Obama wants prosecutions, and by his own statements he does not. You are fantasizing.

9. Funny how the memo was released..
and then the report, isn't it? Funny how the right-wingers are claiming this is a political witch-hunt, but the President appears to not be interested at all. I wonder if the American people will get involved this time, in supporting any attempt at accountability, or will we once again sit back and watch what happens.

17. sitting back and watching what happens?
I agree. It's way too much to ask people to send an email or pick up the phone. Much more effective to read tea leaves to determine what is in another persons mind, and ascertain future events that are not real, while the present and the time to act goes on by.

19. Not saying that's my plan, just saying that's what will happen.
We'll all "keep our powder dry" and nothing will come of it.

21. This is the reply I got...
from my Congressman. I need to involve myself more in contacting members on these committees. Then, regardless of what happens I will know I did the very least I could.

April 21, 2009

Your comments expressing support for investigating former President George W. Bush and other officials in his administration have been forwarded to my attention. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Please know that the Democratic majority in Congress is doing much in the way of demanding accountability. As a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, I am actively involved in such matters. As this work continues, we shall let the facts take us where they will, all in the interest of a better government.

12. Yes they are
I pretty much was a lone voice here for a long time telling all that I believe we are a country of laws not men and well, you can probably see where this is going so I'll just shutup.

Bushco is fucked and it is going to be fun watching them all come tumbling down. They are so hated by so many that once the proceedings begin it will go downhill for them real quickly. This was all so far out there that there is no one and I mean no one who will try to defend them except for the usual suspects and co conspirators. I say get ready for the ride, it is going to be a wild one. Bring plenty of favored drink and herb is my advice.

13. Be patient?
Is that anything like 'keep your powder dry'?

Cuz if it's anything like that I'd say that is ill-advice. Only by raising hell and beating the bushes (pun intended) and making our voices heard will we be able to beat the Bushes.

18. Be still, my heart. Today, for the first time, I think you could be right.
Visualize Cheney in court, guys. As a defendant...

He's clutching his chest, faking a heart attack on the witness stand - or is it real this time?

The prosecutor seems unimpressed. The judges pause and stare... it's a cliffhanger.

I'm so there, I just hope the Dick stays alive until after sentencing!
