Hardball Award to John McCain. Fuck That.
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 06:37 PM by Avalux
Yeah, I know the guy was tortured and blah blah blah. I also know he has spoken out against detainees being tortured in US custody - good for him.

HOWEVER -

The little prick decided to say this the other day about prosecuting Bush officials who tortured, which proves what a partisan hack he really is:

"To go back on a witch hunt that could last for a year or so is bad for the country."

So if John McCain's torturers were captured, do you think he'd demand they be prosecuted? Of course he would.

1. He used "an old" statement that McCain repeatedly made when he had a semblance of "a moral compass"
McCain did try to counter the approval for torture in the beginning. However, I fear all the dirty tricks of Karl Rove zapped McCain's brain to the point that he compromised his once honorable principles.

Many of us liked McCain in 2000. He was, in many regards, a different man than he is now.

Tweety's closing line in that segment about how John McCain should have been elected President in 2000?

What was THAT?

3. Bizarre, huh?
Tweety has man-crushes on male politicians - guess he was reminiscing about the man McCain was in 2000. :spray:

5. Wasn't McSame's "torture" under some question too?
Weren't there some of his cell mates who said he was given special treatment after he made confession tapes, and weren't his injuries a result of his plane crash landing?

I seem to remember many links to those stories here on DU during the election campaign.

6. John "I'm for torture and against torture, depending." McCain
I've never seen any politician equivocate as much as him on torture. His position changes on how he perceives it will help him politically. He should take a lesson from his daughter.
