In February, Karl Rove mocked the stimulus package being written by the House of Representatives, but in particular one part of it: the part allocated to pandemic flu preparations.

You'll recall Rove used to be called "Bush' Brain," but in this case, he was not quite a seer when it came to this article, as the current swine flu outbreak seems to show. In an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal, Rove brought up the following as wasteful spending:

$2 billion for the National Institutes of Health, $462 million for the Centers for Disease Control, and $900 million for pandemic flu preparations.

1. If swine flu gets out of control in the US, Karl and others should hopefully shut up.

And whenever they start pontificating again, someone could cut out print news articles of their exact words and silence them.

2. I doubt anything will get them to shut up.

But, that's fine with me. This is America; they can speak all they want. As long as we hold them accountable or, at the very least, mock them for their stupidity.
