Small government, laissez-faire. But who knows? GOP rhetoric has painted the whole party into a corner. It's going to require a transformative figure who deliberately repudiates part of the Republican tradition. The question is which part.
Jeb's the one, but I think it more likely he will end up a vice presidential pick to a stronger presidential candidate like Romney. But Jeb will run for prez, never doubt it. The Bush clan believe right down to their bones that the presidency is their rightful destiny.
The Bush name may not have lost its tarnished shame in a mere four years' time. But I dearly hope the taint of W's presidency lasts too long for Jeb's presidential ambitions to become a reality. A girl can dream.
9. It'll be someone who can sell themselves as a "moderate", and *definitely* the
big money choice. Palin will not be a factor.
The GOP is a top-down organization. It's a vehicle of big money interests, and they will be steering the party. If their next candidate isn't Mitt Romney, it'll be someone like him.
