I think that the "name calling" fits in this case. It is the synergism of her qualities that makes this human speciman such an offensive person. And I call of like the proper use of bibical quotes by democrats.

Others are certainly entitled to disagree. The most obvious solution would be to avoid reading posts by people who tend to write things you disagree with. That approach might work better than telling people what not to write. Of course, I recognize that people have as much right to post "spare us" messages, too.

"Ugly old hag" aptly describes her character and personality, so I consider it legitimate here. And the Biblical ref reflects a good liberal Christian position that in this case is defensible on secular grounds, as well.

The misogyny in those words harms us all and reflects directly back at the culture Matthew was born and died in -- and how he died.

I really respect your posts a lot. Virginia Foxx has shown herself to be despicable.

But I have to agree with the objections to calling people 'old' as a criticism. And while 'ugly' can certainly describe a moral flaw (accurately in this case), when it's sandwiched between 'old' and 'hag' it's difficult not to see it as falling into that too typical failing of judging women on their age and looks. For what it's worth, I don't think criticizing men on their looks is any better, i.e. using 'fat' to describe Rush Limbaugh.

You talk about equality, this is it. I'll call Bush every name in the book and I see no difference with Virginia Foxx. She's an ugly woman and that's not appearance but from the hateful things she has said that radiate outwards.
