Now that eyes are turning to Factory Pork Farms, watch the Swine Flu story die....
I mean it was all good fun while the Swine Flu boosted ratings, fanned the flames of the immigration debate and changed the national topic of the week away from the Torture Memos.

But the Factory Pork Farms have enormous political clout and it's getting harder and harder to dismiss the obvious connections between intensive animal husbandry and increasing flu mutations - to say nothing about the inconvenience of having Patient 0 live right next to a US imported factory pig farm.

So, as we wave farewell to the Swine H1N1 Flu scare, we await breathlessly the next distraction that will blow this story from the headlines.

2. Now that people aren't dropping dead all over....
Hopefully there will be some changes from this. Being able to call in sick at work, public health funding, factory farm monitoring.

Bright shiny object.....over there>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

6. The media is gonna drop it like a lead stone. How dare we go after an
industry that basically dumps its crap literally in Mexico and contributes to a never before seen flu.

7. Flu season is almost over. Wait until this thing comes back in the Autumn
with a vengeance, like the Spanish flu did. By then they'll have a new name for it. "Obama's flu" or something more appropriate.

9. Unlike the Spanish flu, when this one comes back we will have a
vaccine ready for it. It could still be bad, but nothing like 1918.

8. Ah, but so long as new cases are appearing, it cannot easily die down.
The flu looks to not be too deadly, but it will take some time to determine that and to convince people of that. More likely, the MSM will try to minimize the pork-factory-farm link.
