Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) ...taking care of the well healed in Nebraska
Edited on Sat May-02-09 07:10 AM by thunder rising
Nebraska privileged have accomplished institutionalizing the Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi social mores where God has stricken the poor and blessed the rich. Hence it is taboo to accept or speak of being in need. It is expected that the rural poor watch their children die rather than ask for help.

Senator Ben Nelson certainly propagates this social model. He is an empty shirt Democrat, a non-leader capable of nothing more than ensuring the rich remain so. I spent the morning wandering through his official site, reading and reviewing his official statements. He mostly states and brags about the money he brought back home and whines that there needs to be more controls on spending. But no action; that would require leadership.

Ben Nelson has totally been assimilated into the "privileged and protected" class of NE. He is out of touch and has no idea of how to act in the INTEREST of his entire constituency; he only represents those that "count".

(hat tip to the poster below for the spelling error ... but a true moran on all other points)

1. I don't understand. What do friendly eels have to do with anything?
Social morays?

Well healed? Do you mean people with good medical care?

I'm not quite grasping your thesis, here. It's the job of congressmen, like it or not, to bring home bacon to the district. That's why they get reelected--because people like the fact that they go to DC and bring "gubmint" money home. It may be not that he represents those that "count," but those that VOTE.

I gather you don't like Ben Nelson. You object to his "leadership" and you don't feel he represents you? Is that what you are saying?

You probably need to expound on your "rural poor" comments and describe the ways, specifically, that Nelson has left this demographic behind.

Ben Nelson is worse than a Republican. They at least of the courage to boldly state the crazy shit they believe in.

4. I agree with you except...
well healed should be well heeled (although perhaps the definition of the rich these days should be those with better healthcare rather than better shoes).
