One week U.S. moral and Constitutional health is the top story as torture memos are released and criminal investigations and prosecutions are called for. The next week U.S. physical health is the top story as cross-species influenza begins to spread across the states.
The overarching story is the economic health of the nation and the lack of health care for its citizens.
Losing their jobs, losing their homes, losing health care if they had it to begin with, Americans continue losing confidence and hope. The stress is not good for staying healthy even without a possible flu pandemic.
The economic crises have not been resolved. The Constitutional crisis has been knocked off the top of the news.
"Toxic assets" is an apt description of every aspect of the current state of the U.S.A. It is time to prioritize the HEALTH of the people, the nation and the planet.
We want our jobs back. We want our civil rights back. We want our homes back. We want education back. We want the airwaves back. We want the power of the press and freedom of speech back. We want our privacy back.
We want the Rule of Law back. We want elected representation in Congress back. We want the nation's credibility back. We want our soldiers and National Guard back. We want our wounded to be treated when they come back. We want our disappearing billions of dollars back.
We want our health care to be covered universally so that if a moment like this comes again, people will not be dying from flu because a mercenary economic system has turned them into serfs; at the pleasure of the Lords who farmed our jobs out to anywhere that U.S. worker benefits and environmental (health) laws did not apply. We want our Habeas Corpus back.
We want our nation back.
