10. A pirate radio station was run from there in the 60s.
Also, look up the "Principality of Sealand" which is a "micronation" housed in one of those forts! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principality_of_Sealand

11. I was shocked by the density.
Not so much that people live in earthquake country, but that so many people live in just that little block of earthquake country!
