Can you even IMAGINE how many right wing heads would explode, if there were THREE ..all at once..being replaced?

By having them one at a time, psread out over a few years, it presents the issue af a fight..every time..and what if the dem majority in the senate is lessesned or even lost when the next ones come around?

He has the power NOW..and it would be nice if the ones who are considering leaving, did so sooner, rather than later..

That would also cut down on the infighting between "groups".. Pres. O could nominate a hispanic woman, a black woman and an Asian man... and present them all at once.. Roberts et al would be kerfluffled and bejesufied at the thought of that new court in October

2. And let them all be young. Seasoned, but young enough to be on the Court
as long as the current incumbents...

3. They should definitely leave in his first term
and preferably while we still have strong majorities in both Houses.

4. ... only if the 3 that announce include Fat Tony & Uncle Clarence.
I'd like a permanent liberal majority on the SCOTUS, please. :-)

5. I think he should nominate twins, if not triplets.
It's about time we had some twins on the Court.

6. Article in the local paper here said...
Don't think that Mr. Obama is going to be presenting anything but middle of the road types, based on his former students beliefs.

7. Who are the two who are whispering about retiring?
Souter was a complete surprise to me--I'm not in on the beltway gossip I guess.

It might also be the time to consider somebody who will have a real life appreciation of the ADA.

12. I hope they replace Souter with somebody at most 55 years old. We need some
long termers.
